Taking Control of Your Life

We are always in the process of creating.  We have no control over natural catastrophes, but in observing them, you decide who you are with regard to them.  How you react to an incident influences your experience and your ability to take control of your life.  Only when you can accept responsibility for all of your life, can you achieve the power to change part of it.

As long as you entertain the thought that there is something or someone out there who is ‘doing it’ to you, you disempower yourself to do anything about it.  Entertain the thought that all those ‘bad’ things that happen in your life are of your choosing.  That you have ownership of how every calamity touches your life.  Your whole life can be forever changed by the way you judge an event.

Your judgement is often based upon previous experience.  Your previous experience is often derived from an even prior experience.  Like building blocks your memory about the thing goes way back to where you first formed your original thought.  Your first thought about the thing is the first error which by now has been compounded to an automatic habit that you just process.  So, is your attitude towards life the result of a blockage?  And are you ready to release the block and move forward?

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
